The Year of Our Lord 1832 was the year Bastrop became a town. ‘A course, that’s just 4 years before some number of Texan Rebels went and won themselves a little fight & a big ‘ol Republic…

Since our beginnings in 1996, Coldwell Banker Green – Mills & Associates has been a Bastrop-based business. We like to say, “With CBGMA, you get the strength of working with a national company, and the ease of working with a local Realtor.” Our main phone number is 512-303-2020, and we like to say about that, “For a clear view on real estate, call us at 512-303-2020!”
One of the nice things about Bastrop is that Bastrop has commuter-friendly skies. We’ve got another saying for this: “If you work in Austin 8 to 5, the sun will not be in your eyes!” If you’ve ever had a commute route that was looking into the sun morning and evenings through the seasons of the year, you know that can be pretty tough.
The other great relief that Bastropian commuters enjoy is, that we are not up and down the I-35 corridor, where you have gridlock twice a day. That’s where so many traffic reports come. So it’s an easy commute to and from Austin.

It’s very pretty here, we have great quality dirt / soil, so if you have livestock or if you garden—both of which many of our CBGMA Realtors do—or if you just want to have trees and a pretty lawn and a nice back yard, we have an ideal geographic area to do that in!
The Colorado River runs through Bastrop, and that brings so, so many joys into the lives of folks who live here and love to be on or by the water. So, you can kayak, you can canoe, you can walk the river walk. At Christmas time we have a Trail of Lights that’s a walking path, and that’s a beautifully lit path that runs right alongside the river.
We have some beautiful golf courses here in Bastrop: Wolfdancer, which is at the Hyatt, Colovista, and Pine Forest, which is right here in the Tahitian Village (our office sits at the front of Tahitian Village).
Our selection of great outdoor activities in Bastrop
Bastrop has made a lot of progress on our highways in recent years, so traveling through Bastrop and getting from one end of town to the other is so much easier than it was just a few years ago with our new overpasses. So that’s great! Trips around town, from home to shopping or to the parks and docks, are quick and easy.
The folks here at Coldwell Banker Green – Mills & Associates in Bastrop really, really care about our clients. We listen to what their needs are. We put our all into finding what they’re going for, and we listen for what they say and what they don’t say, because quite often when people want to move out to the country, and they say, “I want 5 to 10 acres,” really what they want is privacy—to get out of the hustle and bustle of being in town. They don’t really want to take care of 10 acres; they don’t really want to mow even five acres. So, if we have some folks that maybe are getting ready to retire, but they have some years left, and they’re strong and healthy and athletic and all those things, often they’ll have it in their mind that five, ten, twenty acres is the perfect recipe for rural peace and happiness. But in our experience, if they get two acres of grassland, they’ll be married to the mower on weekends. A lot of the time, that’s not actually what they’re envisioning, so it affects their quality of life.

If a couple like this has a Realtor who just hears “10 acres” but doesn’t integrate the meaning of that vision (“I want peace and quiet and privacy”) with the reality of country life (“Way more upkeep on that size of property than this client would want”) you find people who end up back on the housing market within a year or two looking for a downsize, or, worse, concluding that that serene rural life that is possible out here in Bastrop isn’t actually what they want. We listen to and understand our clients’ needs for their ultimate satisfaction, so our home buyers end up with what they’re truly looking for in a Bastrop property.
Seemingly little things like this—knowing what to listen for and what questions to ask—really can make all the difference in quality-of-life and satisfaction outcomes for home buyers in Bastrop. And we’re grateful to be able to bring deep, unexpected value to each of the people we’re privileged to work with at CBGMA.
So we really work with each of our clients as individuals, with specific and unique needs and preferences. And as sellers, we really dig in and look at their goals—where in the country they’re heading, what they’re timeline is like, what are all the moving parts in their transition—to get them the best price in the shortest amount of time, and to make it a relocation of ease, clarity, and clear expectations.
Home selling in particular is an area where we have strong, strong value, because with Coldwell Banker, we have national / international referral systems. As a home seller, what this means is, if you’re going to another part of the country, we can connect you with a superb agent there who can take excellent care of you. We call that working by referral, and with all the different things that come up in buying and selling homes, we’re talking about major simplifying of the whole process. Folks really end up with a much easier and more seamless move to their new location.
So, we have a great network across this entire nation—and beyond our borders—to help people buy and sell real estate. Maybe you’re selling in another area, but you happen to be here in Bastrop. What we can do is have you come into our office, walk you through the signing of your documents, and then we either scan and email or fax them back and forth. And this is reciprocal across the whole country, so if we have someone who is from here trying to buy there, or sell somewhere else, we’ll find a sister office there that will do the same for us.
The CBGMA formula for selling your home
It is great that we have that camaraderie across hundreds, and thousands, of miles of real estate relocations. It is a great strength that we have, and it makes all the difference in the ease and simplicity of these transactions for the relocating buyer or seller, to have our local specialists, here and on the ground, work through all these details with them and for them.
People will often walk into our office here in Bastrop and say, “Well, I sold a house up in Colorado and sold a house with Coldwell Banker and they were great. So I’m working with y’all since you’re the Coldwell Banker local office because I know the caliber of what I’m getting!” That gives us a lot of strength.
Our company, Coldwell Banker, is over 110 years old, so that’s huge; we’ve stood the test of time. Colbert Coldwell and Benjamin Arthur Banker got together after the great earthquakes in San Francisco in 1906, and what they found was that there were a lot of unscrupulous people trying to sell property—carpet baggers and so forth—and so they said, “Oh, no, no. We’re not going to work that way.” And so from the very, very beginning, the onset of Coldwell Banker has been established with integrity and taking care of its clients as its core foundation.
The “issue” people take with Realtors is most often with the exact same behavior that Mr. Coldwell and Mr. Banker rejected—a feeling, an awareness, that the Realtor is much more interested in making a quick buck than in genuinely looking into things, than in holding the best-interests of the client at the center of all they do. So that foundation continues to this day. It’s embodied in the Coldwell Banker company and its practices. And when combined with the local-level expertise, care, and know-how of our CBGMA Realtors, it really makes an impression on the people we work with. Folks end up noticing the difference in big ways and referring their friends and family to us for all their real estate needs.
